The tag on her hat says her title – "Chinese Girl". And, huh... 華 means flower. But it can also mean China too, apparently. And so, like, for all we know by the title, maybe it's not "Chinese" but "Flower People" – making Meiling the "Flower Girl" a flower yōkai.
Wait, is that why she is sometimes shipped with Yūka?!
