TIL, "bonito" is not Japanese. The word is Spanish, not to mention a different fish. It's "katsuo" in Japanese. Ahh... bonito is the cheaper substitute for katsuo.

Huh... I suppose it's a strange thing from our side? 'Cause it's in English that we call katsuo – skipjack tuna – a bonito 'cause they both look almost the same?
