I think an aspect not often explored about Nazrin is the very fact that she's pretty independent and not quite affiliated with with Myōrenji, just Shō. Aside from serving Bishamonten, she gives zero f#cks about what the monks are doing – and is actually doing her own thing with her mice.
Hell, she might possibly even be a player in Gensōkyō's great game as the head of the yōkai mice, similar to Mamizō with the yōkai tanuki.
