Best part is this might actually work through urban myth. 🤔 Though aluminium itself doesn't seem to have any myth attached to it... understandable since it's a relatively recently-discovered element.
The alum that is its namesake, though, was a precious product in the past as quality mordant – dye binders. But again, people didn't seem to think too much about it either.
