Imagine my shoes looking up ゆで汁 (yudejiru) and the dictionary says it's broth. But then I search broth, it gives me 煮汁 (nijiru). Both are literally "boil juice", by the way.
What's the difference? Nijiru is the one we'd call broth. As for Yudejiru, it's the boiling water. Like, imagine the water you use to cook pasta that you later ladle some into your sauce. Yeah, that kind of water.
