I think we're skipping over a few steps if we assume that "ordinary" means "human" – "Ordinary Magician" and "Human Magician" are different.
An ordinary magician should conjure the basic image of a magician – the completely transformed kind. 🤔 Perhaps Marisa's game is to keep calling herself that, and she's eventually become one? Walk like them until they must walk like you.
Metaphysical fuckery aside – that title is still a super clear indication that Marisa intends to be the textbook magician. She intends to be a full magician.
